DOES THIS SOUND FAMILIAR?

You’re an adult with the desire for connection with others, but instead you feel:

·       Mistrusting, so you may stay emotionally or even physically distant.

·       Deep sadness and grief for not having been given safety or nurture in relationships (with family, friends, or partners).

·       Guilty or embarrassed for people-pleasing, yet believing you should also be self-sufficient or independent.

·       Fearful of abandonment.

·       Anxiety that you may never overcome past wounds or even current patterns you find yourself in.

·       Like you’re drowning in shame.

You normally try to have things under control. But now, you feel like you’re falling apart after years of having it all together. Maybe you’re finding it tough to explain to loved ones why you feel more down or isolated than usual. Or perhaps you tend to have that “tug-o-war” with others when it comes to connecting in friendships or relationships. One moment, you’re in, but the next moment, you’re anxious all over again, so you pull away. My clients have felt like you currently do. They’re hardworking, supportive of loved ones, and driven, but life’s been hard. You realized you may need some support after going through all this relational stress. You’re finding yourself just…trying…to survive in a world meant for connection. And you’re trying hard.

If this sounds like you, you deserve support from a therapist in Cherry Hill.

Life doesn't have to stay this way.

Female Therapist in Cherry Hill. In-Person Counseling.

I’m so glad you’re here.

Hi, I’m

Samantha Nusom, a Cherry Hill therapist,

and I can help.

I help genuine men and women, who are struggling with anxiety from relational stress or trauma, to relieve themselves from the emotional and mental struggles, so they can feel safe, connected, and competent in life and relationships again.

Diverse group of men and women bipoc

These men and women are looking for a warm, empathetic counselor who values holding space for real, raw emotions. They need someone who balances between not only seeing and hearing you, but also guiding you patiently. We’ll discover ways to relieve you from cycles you want to let go of.

They want to let go of hurtful memories they’ve had in relationships (family, romantic, friends, etc.). Trying to figure who or what is safe for them is tiring. So, they want to move forward in life with internal harmony. Overall, it will be a mind and body approach.

My clients walk away from therapy with me feeling freed from wounds and patterns that no longer serve them. They are back to their usual outgoing, curious selves. Their confidence and clarity on what they truly desire for themselves has increased. This can be your reality, too.

Ultimately, I want to guide you in learning how to…

Nurture every part of you (even the wounded ones) to develop the love and acceptance you deserve for yourself.

Before Starting Therapy

When my clients first come in, they find themselves feeling nervous. Maybe it’s because admitting to the anxiety from relational stress or trauma is a hard thing to do. Or maybe they realized something’s gotta give, but aren’t sure how.

Sometimes, they question their own self-worth. They may feel like they don’t completely have a sense of trust in themselves or others. The memories and cycles of painful relationships they’ve had get in the way of the life they truly want.

Before they came to see me, they were hesitant if they would find the right therapist for them. They worried that therapy just involved the client talking, while the therapist says with very few words until the session ends. They were certain that their concerns would neither be heard nor understood. For some of my clients, I am not the first therapist they’ve seen. So, they’re curious if therapy would actually help this time around.

Being open and honest with someone they have never met before just didn’t feel convincing. Like my clients, you deserve to live life meaningfully without the heaviness from that relational stress or trauma. Coming from someone who has gone through that relational stress in the past, yes, it is possible. And…it is realistic for you.

Will Therapy Help?

As a counselor in Cherry Hill, I provide specific treatment for all my clients based on their unique experiences. Therapy is not a “one size fits all” setting. Each person receives the treatment that I know will benefit their personal needs and desires. You’ll get to choose whether you want to meet in-person or online.

You will finally have someone that not only understands, but also validates your concerns. Starting therapy is the first step; it takes courage. You are the focus, the expert in your journey and I am honored to walk alongside you.

During our work together, you’ll begin to notice that you’re able to:

  • Communicate your needs.

  • Set boundaries.

  • Get clear on what will feel safe for you relationally now and in the future.

  • Have secure beliefs about yourself, people, the world.

  • Encounter confidence, relief, peace.

  • Accept every part of you.

If you’ve been in therapy before, some of my clients said that our work together has been the most helpful. If this is your first time, just know that nervous feeling is normal – but you got this! Building a healthy perspective of yourself and of relationships is not out of your reach.

HOW I WORK

Get in touch today. This is to alleviate any pressure you may feel. I’ll answer any questions you have and you can be sure we’re a good fit.

Meet for the first time

During our first session, we’ll discuss the “full picture” to explore what you need and how I can help. We will name some goals and values you have and talk about how we can get there.

Get the support you need

Each session will be up to 60 minutes. I recommend in the beginning, we meet once a week to keep up the momentum we see in session. You will receive specific treatment for your own needs.
Payment is collected at the end of your session (card, check, or cash). Each session is $200. I do not accept insurance, but you can possibly be reimbursed by your insurance (read more here). We can meet in-person at my office or virtual through an easy-to-use platform that’s HIPAA-compliant.
