My Approach to Accelerated Resolution Therapy in Cherry Hill, NJ

There are many events within our lives and the world around us that will leave us feeling fearful or anxious. For example, perhaps there’ve been instances in your life where things may have gotten hectic. Maybe your anxiety comes from feeling like you’re not in total control. Perhaps that trauma or loss left you feeling helpless because of how sudden they happened.

For most of my clients, feeling nervous, worried, or scared is common. They’re having a build-up of stress. They can't focus as much, worry a lot about numerous things, or find it hard to control their worry. Their mind, then, leads them to think the worst thing will happen. This creates fear.

The problem you are facing may feel like it’s going to take forever to process. You go through the roller coaster of emotions. But, what if I said that we can resolve that hurt in a timely manner? Yes, it’s possible through Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) helps to address numerous issues, including trauma, stress, annoyance, anxiousness, and sudden loss. ART uses relaxing back-and-forth eye movements to use your brain’s ability to help you problem-solve. The eye movements create a calming effect in the same way we are in REM sleep/dreaming.

By using your left and right brain, it helps both logic and creative sides to communicate with one another. It also brings relief to your body’s response to those challenges. When we change the images attached the problem, we, also, change the way we feel. You'll feel...better. You know the facts for sure! But, the way you see it and feel about it become different.

For specific stressors, like trauma, ART helps you to rescript those painful memories and images. ART will also guide you into erasing and replacing stuck images through what’s called Voluntary Memory/Image Replacement. For anxiety, ART helps to process the root of your symptoms. It may also allow your mind to restructure how your typical day goes for relief. Lastly, for sudden losses, it helps you to reach a peace that you desire. This is especially true when ART guides you to find out how you can move forward.

Now, you don’t have to have a specific scene or image in mind to do ART. You can begin with a sensation that has been bothering you, perhaps with a problem you are facing. Moreover, you can work on something happening currently versus the past. ART feels limitless; it’s truly amazing.

Many of my clients have tried talk therapy before or other forms of trauma focused counseling. Those approaches may have helped, but ART has set a different standard for them. This is because ART goes beyond the “logic” of processing trauma, anxiety, loss, and other stressors. ART is process-focused. Therefore, it can bypass the time normally spent on the content of your problem in other therapies. This is why ART works faster than others.

As an Advanced-Level trained ART therapist, it’s rewarding to hear my clients’ creative ideas in session. Clients tend to feel relief within 1-5 sessions. Therefore, it’s helped them to feel at peace from past hurts and confident for the future

Founder of ART, Laney Rosenzweig, explains the process of recovery using Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART).

Accelerated Resolution Therapy FAQs

  • There are a few reasons why you may need to do ART. If you went through something traumatic or a loss, you may be having changes in your mood, sleep, eating habits. Maybe you’re anxious and don’t know why. Or simply, you’re feeling annoyed about something and need guidance. We can go over your symptoms when we first meet.

  • Yes, it is! There are a few therapies that can achieve this. Our eye movements and our brains have a lot to do with this, which is impressive. No worries - I will explain once we meet together.

  • ART therapy has been shown to be safe in processing things that are triggering. The eye movements help you to calm during the process. Plus, as I guide you, I am encouraging you along the way. Your brain begins to restructure memories/images and starts to recognize you are safe now.

  • Great question! For those who may not be familiar, EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing) therapy has been around for some time to help people process trauma. ART includes some aspects of EMDR, but there are notable differences! The founder of ART better explains it in this article: Differences Between EMDR and ART

  • Anyone! It's helpful for any person, no matter how “big” or “small” you consider your stress or trauma to be. All it takes is an ounce of motive and desire for change - I’m here.
